George Clooney, John Cusack, Sean Penn, Adrien Brody, Woody Harrelson, John C. Reilly, Nick Nolte, John Travolta...yeah, I'd say that's a pretty nice cast. It has a 7.4 rating on the IMDB, which is a far cry from the 8.5 Saving Private Ryan has. Interesting that two WWII dramas would come out in the same year. That seems to happen quite a bit in Hollywood, two films that deal with the same subject come out right around the same time...
Armageddon and Deep Impact both came out in 1998 Capote in 2005 followed by Infamous in 2006 The Prestige and The Illusionist both came out in 2006. Volcano and Dante's Peak both came out in 1997.

flat out sucked. The movie's way too outrageous and corny even for the mummy series. I swear I almost fell alseep in the theater and that NEVER happens. Also Maria Bello was seriously miscast as Vivian(I believe); her take on an english accent was terrible. I can clearly see why Rachel Weisz didn't wanna be part of this crapfest. At least I had a free movie ticket and wasn't robbed of 8 bucks...

It seems almost everyone I run into says it's a complete waste of time. It's really a shame, too. The first two Mummy films are rather enjoyable and I'm always pleased to see Brendan Fraser take on campy roles. Looks like this film could very well kill the series. According the IMDB, the new Mummy film cost $145 million and only made $45 in it's opening weekend. I can't imagine it's going to make that back considering it's going to progressively make less each week it's out.
