Twilight will not even make it to $200 mill.
oh god no, not even close... and it's not really a good movie either... it was low budget and showed it...
Around 100 mill first week and down it goes. I'll wait.
they will make triple their money back then, haha... so you are saying 100 mil first weekend? That is top 11 all time type numbers... i don't think so... If it does do 100 mil, then the midnight showings were obviously justified. I don't think it will do that, and it's not good enough for word of mouth to get people to go. Not only that, the fans of the book all went opening weekend. I don't know why you brought up week 2... it doesn't matter IMO... The midnight showings were justifed in most cities and it will WAY more than make it's money back... what more does it need to do. Nobody expected this when they were making it. It cost 36 million to make.

ok, i just don't understand the need for the opening weekend for a limited release. Why the rush for a limited audience? Looks like around $70 million i guess.
It's was going to make the same amount of money either way, there was no need to bring it out early. If this movie was worthy, than we might see a lot more.
I guess the Movie Theaters are getting desperate to keep us going to the theaters with the "Rental" Outlets slashing each others throats devaluing the movie experience.
This was just a silly Midnight Vampire thing.

Twilight - saw with the wife, she read the books, i didnt. i didnt care for it, but it was well acted/directed for what it was, so i can respect that. she didnt really care for it either. after the movie was over i asked her if Edward (the vampire) got all excited when he first met Bella (the girl) because she was on her period.
6/10
Tropic Thunder - meh...aside from Tom Cruise i didnt think it was all that great, i kept falling asleep too. maybe it will be like Zoolander where i need to see it again on Comedy Central or something a few years from now
6/10
next up is either Before The Devil Knows Your Dead or 1408

I liked Tropic Thunder I really like Robert Downey Jr. and thought his character was hilarious, loved Tom Cruise in it too. It was mostly silly and stupid but it made me laugh.
