The Beach 8/10

I've always wanted to see this movie and finally got to yesterday. Pretty good with a cool concept, and Leo(as usual) was great. Also found out it was directed by Danny Boyle, which I never knew.

Seven Pounds is a heavy, heavy movie and a bit depressing. It seemed to plod along at times and was slow in parts, but overall I thought it was decent. I like Will Smith and Rosario Dawson and they really put forth solid efforts. I'll give it a 7/10, good but not great.

Pretty Persuasion - a dark comedy with Evan Rachel Wood playing the done-to-death Sweet Girl With a Genius Level IQ Who's Really An Evil Tramp plots to set up her teacher (Office Space's Ron Livingston) on sexual harrasment charges. some darkly funny scenes but nothing special...although i'm sure 15 year old girls would love it

Boxing Helena David Lynch's daughter directs this "love story" starring Julian Sands (i only recall him from Warlock like 15 years ago) and Sherilynn Fenn where Sands character becomes obsessed with Fenn to the point that he does everything he can to keep her (Kathy Bates in Misery has nothing on this guy). still...it wasnt all that great and has that Lynchian feel...which always make me think i'm "not getting it"
