What movies did you see today?

[Dr. Duran Duran]

Just saw two movies this weekend and both were awesome. The first was the Firefly movie Serenity. A very solid sci-fi movie with a likeable cast and a solid script. Special effects don't overwhelm the movie (take a hint George) and the story is well paced and balanced with action, humor, drama and suspense. All-in-all, it's the best sci-fi space drama I've seen in ages. I've never seen the Firefly television series, but if the movie is anything like the show, I'm going to have to go out and get the DVD set for the first season.

The other film I watched is Waiting, a film about several people who wait table for a "Bennigans" rip-off called "Shenanigans". I was a waiter for six years at a TGI-Friday's in California and the film was literally like my life during those years. Almost every scene in the film has you laughing out loud and the cast just make the film so believable and fun. Truly one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time.

Both get 9/10 stars from DDD.

if im not mistaken its a kung-fu type of movie where the guy does all his own stunts. ive seen commercials and it looks insane.

i saw The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and i really liked it. very clever movie with some good acting. i really liked the fact that all of the creatures are puppets and not CGI, it gives them an extra bit of realism, like theyre actually there.

Saw Rick On Demand the other day. It's an independent film I think, but it is very good.
