A lot of fantasy football is prognostication and taking chances. There's a possible scenario that Lamont Jordan could be a top 15 back in the NFL this year.
But he could also flop. Oakland has never really been a good running team, even when they were a perennial playoff team and Charlie Garner was at his peak. With a poor defense, I can see Oakland always playing from behind and Collins winging it to Moss and Porter all day long, essentially abandoning the run.
Would I pick up Jordan with a late round draft pick? Sure. But would I take him in the middle rounds over known fantasy entities? No, I'm not willing to take that chance.
after getting screwed with garner last year and then his replacements, i think i will look at other teams first..... but then maybe oakland wont be playing from behind every game this year????

i may be wrong but i dont remember jordan ever being a consistent end zone threat. i know he didnt have that job last year.
No, but he did the year before. See, it's funny how I remember that, because I drafted Curtis Martin 2 years ago when he had 1,200 yards and 2 TD's, and then the year I DONT draft him is the year he gets 1,600 yards and double digit TD's.
I'll take him and he'll turn out to be Kevan Barlow!

You must have been asleep for a year. Charlie Garner was with the Tampa Bay Bucs last season.

I'm glad that you dug up Turner's history with respect to the running game Az. He definitely has had his share of successes over time and I do think he will get it righted in Oakland as well. To me, the bigger question is if Lamont Jordan is an every down caliber RB. There's always been some questions about him from the get-go. Granted Martin had an amazing season last year, but he's also had the chance to supplant Martin prior to last season and never seized it. It would kind of worry me to draft him before the middle rounds.
