Darn. I was hoping that the Lions would find a way to sign Patten. He would have been a perfect slot receiver for them. Except for one minor problem: he doesn't drop passes. So he wouldn't fit in with the Lions. Very solid signing for the Skins.

What is the real length of the contract? Meaning, when can they cut him and how much are they on the hook for?

'Cause that's a lot of money to pay for a decent third WR (which is all he should be).

I think Patten is a good start anyway.Good receiver,but he needs a compliment WR to help him out.Maybe they are looking to sign someone else,or possibly look to the draft to better themselves at wideout,but I think they could have done worse than Patten.Just thank your lucky stars they didn't go for Dropsy Terrell.
