The Cleveland Browns have announced they have hired Ben Coates as their tight ends coach. Coates brings four years of coaching experience and 10 years of NFL playing experience to the Browns.

this is a great pick up for the browns. adding one of the best TEs of all time to coach winslow is going to make him flourish in the new offense over in CLE.

i remember when he played with BAL, too bad he had to go to CLE though...
Sorry, couldn't let this slide. One of the best TEs of all time? Seriously? Man, this guy had a couple of nice seasons but he did nothing to revolutionize the game. I know it may just be my opinion but I doubt that he'll even get a sniff of the HOF.

well i tried to thinkof good TEs and only a few came to mind.

coates had 500 rec, 5555 yds, and 50 TDs in a time when TEs were not used for recieving.

Sure does look like some good stats to me..

But I wouldn't classify him as "one of the best of all time". But he should be a positive influence on KWII and his production ;-D
