The MVP award that we usually pay the most attention to is the AP Player of the year. This MVP award's first six winners are now Hall-of-Famers. It has been won 3 times by a QB, he was also the first winner, but his name was not Favre. Give the name of the award.

What I was trying to get at was that this award has been won 3 times by a QB. Like Favre has won the AP MVP three times. The award I'm looking for was also won by a QB 3 times but a different QB.

Hint: The award was first given to Johnny Unitas in 1959. Peyton Manning won it the last two years running.
