Out Of Print Records?

Postby Dr. Duran Duran on Mon Mar 07, 2005 2:28 am

Ok, Human League (Don't You Want Me, Fascination) are one of the pioneers of new wave or 80's electronica. I've been searching high and low for copies of their records here in the states only to discover that most of their library isn't available at your local record store. Very disappointing. I was wondering if this is a trend only here in the states, and if so why? It seems really odd that such a popular title wouldn't be available at a record store, but it's the case with Human League. Any thoughts?

wow ...i did a little research on them just now and never realized that they had been putting out albums since 79....and that there were that many of them. honestly i havent looked for any of their albums at the stores but it seems strange that they wouldnt be carried considering they were a pretty well known band.

I suppose I haven't utilized all of my best options. But, I went to Tower Records and a few other major record stores only to discover they had no domestic releases available. Just imports. Ebay may be my best option, but I'll check Amazon too. Thanks fellas. ;-D

Yeah, don't really know what to tell you on the record stuff...but I know Human League was pretty good. :-)

Recently I've been trying to parody their song "Human" by substituting the world "Albumen." :-b

"I like albumen...the white part of...an egg...
"Albumen...goes good with...a steak!"

"I love albumen...a part of your...souffle...
"Albumen...whip it for...meringue!"

I do have a copy of their greatest hits...It's pretty good if you are interested in it. I don't recall all of the songs but I could grab if you really are wanting it DDD...Just let me know.

I know I have a copy of Dare! floating around here somewhere too, but it's on cassette.

The GH I have to the best of my knowledge wasn't an import, but I can't remember honestly. Came out in '88.

Has on it Mirror Man, (Keep Feeling) Fascination, The Sound of the Crowd, The Lebanon, Human, Don't You Want Me, Being Boiled, Love Action (I Believe In Love), Louise, Open Your Heart, Love Is All That Matters, Life On Your Own

Pretty good CD.

The album you mentioned, Swiper, is the one I am looking for. I've searched Ebay for their greatest hits CD, but the three "greatest hits" records I found don't have all of the songs I want. Why on earth a Human League's Greatest Hits CD wouldn't include "Don't You Want Me" or "Fasicination" is beyond me, but for whatever reason they were missing one or both of those songs. Makes no sense at all. It's like having a Prince's greatest hits without "When Doves Cry" on it. Very incomplete.
