Decent signing for the Lions. 5 years $14 Mil (I think). Most expensive secondary in the NFL?

Local reports are that it is a three year deal for $14 mil.
Check that, it does appear that it is a 5 year deal. Seems like a steal at the price, very cap friendly.

That secondary is becoming very good very quickly. Didn't they sign somone else too back there?

Not this year. Kennedy is only the second signing the Leos have had this offseason. Unless you are talking about the re-signing of Bracy Walker. Kennedy is a good signing for a good price, hard hitter, lacks on coverage a bit but a solid signing for the Lions. Im pretty happy with the offseason so far.

I know little on Kennedy. All I do know is that he is a big time hitter. I like this signing because it gives the lions someone to give them that nasty attitude they have been missing on D. He should cause a few WR's to drop balls this season. The only question is how is coverage? He is young and they did get him cheap by most standards, so it should be a good deal for the lions.

Kennedy is not a good cover guy, his forte is hard hitting and solid tackling. Don't look for him to get many INTs or fumble recoveries, he doesn't have a history of being that kind of impact player. But he will tackle. And having a safety who can make the tackle makes him worth the money they're paying him.

I don't know too much about the guy, but I did a little research and, like I posted in the Lions forum, found that he was Denver's 3rd best defensive player last year, based off tackles. Which is fine with me.

I just want to give a shout out too all my Lions fan and remind all of us that a while ago when Detroit hired Millen, he put us on a 5 year plan, and many of us thought , "5 YEARS!!! ". Well this is going to be the 5th year, and I think he's done a decent job so far, and this year is definitly going to tell. And it sure hasn't been easy, huh? Go Lions!!!

Good signing for the Lions...

kind of late bloomers in the FA hunt this year, but they seem to be making all the right moves. They still need to work out their backup QB issue though. But good job in Detroits FO.
