Jets sign Fiedler to 5 year contract, don't think this has been posted yet.

You can have him Jets.

I guess the Bears are zeroing in on Johnson, Ferotte, or Blake.

i wouldnt be surprised to quincy carter leave football.

he had some family problems then in the playoffs he went into rehab, leaving the jets WITHOUT a backup at the most important time of the year...

Well, last I heard, Quincy is in rehab.

Either way, I really like this signing. Fiedler might not have the greatest arm, or accuracy, or anything else for that matter - but he seems to be a smart player and can help the team win ball-games if he's on the field. Great backup and an even better third stringer, if that's what he is.

Please not Blake. I would have liked to have seen Fiedler as a Bear, for the reasons Canacuna mentions.

At least Fiedler is a capable backup in case Pennington's injuries come back to bite him again. They could have done a lot worse considering the crap talent that's out there at quarterback. Still, I would have liked to have seen Jeff Blake end his career where it all began in New York.

Obviously Blake should be the last resort, but hopefully whoever we sign never sees the field.

that sucks... if not for his drug problems, quincy is a perfect backup for the Jets. 2-1 last year (should've been 3-0 -- if not for the horrible coaching mistakes in the baltimore game..)

Pretty good signing...he's at least better than Brooks Bollinger. :-o

Should give the Jets a safe backup to Pennington in case he gets hurt again. Fiedler is capable of taking over the starting job for a few weeks if they call his name.
