After NFL Sundays March Madness is the biggest betting time of the year. The Cafe has a bracket picking contest so I will just give a few tips:

In filling out your brackets - work backwards. Pick your overall winner, then pick who that team will beat in the finals, then fill out the Final Four etc..

In betting, if you like the favorite bet it as early as possible and if you like the underdog wait until just before game time to lay your bet. This is true especially if your game has one of the big names in it like Duke, NC, Kentucky etc. These well known big schools that get to the dance a lot see a lot of action and all of the public money gets bet on them. So the line moves a lot in these games. If Duke opens up as a 15 point favorite against the College of St. Nowhere it will close as a 19 point favorite. So if you want St. Nowhere pick them as late as possible and if you like coach K's team bet them early.
