Did you even bother to look at Cowarts stats or find out who he is before you made these comments. The guy is a starting middle linebacker if he were on any team, with the Vikings who have atrocious LBs outside of newly acquired Napoleon Harris, he's an instant starter.

Hmm, 7th round pick, or proven veteran better than anyone else I have on the team at his position, its a no brainer for the management and an absolute steal for the Vikes. This is definitely the best move they've made all season when considering how much value they got for what they gave.

I wouldnt count on it

Nice move for them of course, they continue to make some decent acquisitions.

Fantastic trade for the Vikes, they bolster their defense with a solid contributor in return for essentially nothing.

Just a disgruntled Bears fan trying to deal with Rex Grossman having to face this new look Vikings defense. What's it feel like to have everyone disagree with you on a forum?

Very nice trade, not sure what the Jets were thinking. Bear in mind that the Antoine Winfield was supposed to turn around the Hype-kings secondary and create a fearsome defense in Minnesota.

Great deal for the Vikes...not the smartest move by the Jets though. Cowart's only played 7 seasons in the NFL...and will be only 30 at the start of next season. If he can stay healthy this will be a major steal by the Vikes.

Nice move for the Vikes, they continue to improve the D and not for much.

Ya but this time its Pat Williams, Fred Smoot, Sam Cowart, Darren Sharper and Napolean Harris. A bit different than just adding Winfield methinks.

Have to see how the draft goes but I'm starting to think of the Vikes as a sleeper D. for next yr.
First the Shock, then the Pistons can the Lions be next?

Well maybe next yr.

PS I didn't lose a paper bag challenge but somehow as a Lion's fan it just feels right.

I would salivate at the mouth if we got Merriman and Mike Williams. Not sure how that could happen, but the Vikings would be THE team next year, no question.
