Dolphins: Williams talks to Saban

by Fanball Staff - Fanball.com

News
The Ricky Williams rumors are heating up again. The Miami Herald reports the former running back spoke with Dolphins' head coach Nick Saban by phone last week after avoiding his calls for weeks. Williams says he has quit using marijuana and Saban left open the possibility of Ricky returning if he brought "value" to the team.

Views
Now that they have actually been in contact, this could get kind of interesting. The Dolphins probably want to have some sort of answer, one way or another, on the Williams issue before next month's draft. Stay tuned for more on the Ricky saga.

I'm sure this is the first of many Ricky rumors we'll be hearing this off-season. Should be fun to watch, eh?

man....just when i start to forget about this guy his name pops up again...

i guess it wouldnt hurt to take him as like a last pick in the draft where there isnt too much risk...but i honestly dont see him coming back...but who knows

and i seriously doubt he has quit smoking pot. the guy was a huge smoker. :-°

I agree Terp. but I still have this guy hanging around on my dynasty roster and it makes me question whether I should take any Rb drafted by miami. It should be interesting.

I heard on ESPN radio that Ricky is in India and dropped 25 pounds.

At least he's has some world travel.

Why would the Dolphins want him when they can have Edge for a second round pick. Granted they dont have a second round pick, but a simple trade would get them one.

Because Ricky would have no bargaining power at this point. Nobody wants him, and he would have to be treated as an undrafted rookie, and sign for peanuts, and prove himself throughout the summer.

Like D-Lux said, I seriously doubt he has quit smoking, and he needs the money to continue smoking and paying for his "family".

i have no idea how dolphins managment would be able to slip williams back onto the team. i remember all of the jabs jason taylor took at him over the past year so im sure there are harsh feelings about him all over that team. if i was a player with any type of pull on that team i would do everything i could to make sure he doesnt make the team.

I'd just like to say THANK YOU for posting this as rumor. There have been too many idiots pissing off a lot of us saying "so and so is gone" or "so and so to such and such a team" just to get us to read their blatherings. Seriously, THANK YOU. This is refreshing.
