Ricky is a crackhead with an amazing ability to run the football at the NFL level. However, I can't think of anybody I know who is able to completely quit smoking pot once they are hooked. Ricky will never play in another NFL game. For all basic intents and purposes, Ricky has less worth than James Fenderson, the Atlanta RB who is like 5th on the depth chart and hasn't really touched the ball in an NFL game for 3 seasons (he got 2 touches in 02). Why? Because Fenderson could actually see playing time between now and the apocalypse and Ricky won't.

if you can sign the guy to an incentive laden contract with penalities for off the field disruptions and no guarented money, i dont see whats to lose.

I agree. You can't just pass on that kind of talent. His next contract(if their is one) will soley be based on performance.

Performance based Contract. What if he has a season ending injury early in the year? How would this PBC work? 1000 yds and 10 tds or else? As long as he stays clean it doesn't matter how he performs.

That's the dangers of that type of contract.And unfortunately for Ricky,a situation he has thrust himself into.It can be based on average yards per game over so many games,so many receptions,so many carries....pretty much whatever they can dream up.I feel no pity for him if he gets injured early and can't get his goals because he is the jerk that caused the situation.

Without seeming to rightious(SP), He needs to spend a year cleaning up before he thinks about playing football. 12 steps aren't nearly enough for RastaRicky. Some people are casual smokers. I think he is past that point. Bongs for breakfast and Blunts for lunch are a bit much for a professional athelete.
