Raiders | Konrad Agrees to Terms - from http://www.KFFL.com
Mon, 21 Mar 2005 14:49:49 -0800

Joe Schad, of the Palm Beach Post, reports the Oakland Raiders have agreed to terms with free agent FB Rob Konrad (Dolphins) on a one-year, $700,000 deal.

Not a bad signing. Not a top tier FB, but he'll help clear some holes for Jordan.

Conrad's a good solid fullback. This is setting up to be a monster year for Jordan.

Wasn't Konrad a pass catcher in Miami? This could hurt Lamont just a bit if they utilize him in that way.Not much, but a bit.

Isn't Zach Crockett around to vulture the goalline scores. I know Lamont is a big boy, so will he get to run it in without getting robbed???

No way he is going to get robbed on a consistent basis.

Not with the $$$ they are paying him. They are going to get their moneys worth out of him.

Do not be mislead by what i am saying. Yes Moss and Porter will get their fade routes to the back pylon. But Tyrone wheatly will not get many rushes at the goaline. ;-D

Undefeated, do you remember a series of downs for the raiders last season towards the end where every friggin play was involving Zach crockett. I counted 15 plays in a row that culminated in a Z. Crockett (I saw it on NFL gamecenter) TD run.

If that tells me anything, its that of all their RBs I think Crockett will get the most looks after Jordan.
ADMIN edit: please note that the overall sig limit is 12k - thanks!

Sixxgunn is right, he was a pass catcher, not a runner. I see minimal downside and nice upside here for the Raiders.
