Broncos | Dayne Signed
Fri, 1 Apr 2005 14:37:34 -0800

The Denver Broncos announced they have signed free agent RB Ron Dayne (Giants). Terms of the deal were undisclosed.

i always liked ron dayne and i think, given the chance, he will flourish behind Denver's OL...

I was actually kinda on this guy's wagon last preseason..

I think I had temporary amnesia about preseason performances.....

Although anyone can do well in Denver! But I still say he doesn't.. Thanks Heisman winner !

Hmmm...very interesting. Does this mean that Shanny won't draft a RB or is Hearst retiring (I'm actually not sure of the duration of Hearst's contract)? I still think Shannahan will draft a late round RB and just see what happens. His ego won't let him not try to find that late round steal.

well, if he came cheap its not a bad pickup. Bell is still the guy. Maybe he'll convert Dayne to Fullback! Only to pull him back from fullback in time for a huge 2nd half after tatum takes a fall. Or he'll just suck (way likely)

The new SUPER STUD in Denver??? :-?

I would assume he'll just be a pounder back...

Anyone afraid they will try to pull the same crap they did with Tiki at the beginning of last year and think about giving Dayne the RZ carries? Bell might be very "durable"...

With Shanahan, you never know. :-)

I'm interested to see where or if he goes in mocks this year. At any rate I doubt Bell remains healthy all season and he might have a couple of big weeks. They can then trade him to Cleveland for some more DL :-b

But no matter how well he plays I can't look at that name on one of my rosters... the FF equivalent of rock bottom.

Just about anyone can run in Denver. He has some talent. If he gets a shot, I think he could do something with it. Bell seemed to get injured alot last year but maybe that was a fluke thing. He was a rock in college.

Dayne is terrible, I was saying that all of last preseason while he was tearing it up, and he proved to be non-existant during the season. Its safe to say that the talent he showed 9in college, which I would argue is a tad overhyped, hasn't transferred over to the NFL. I don't even think that Denver can save him.
