Technically GNR have never broken up. Axyl just kept kicking people out of the band. They toured in 2002, supposedly an album(CD) was coming out, made it all the way through Europe then Axyl started not showing up or being late when they hit Canada. Two riots later Clear Channel dumped them and ended the tour. No new album either. Face it Axyl is pathetic. The music was great while it lasted though.

I'll always hate G N R for their feud with Mötley Crüe back in the day. :-C

Heh - GN'R's tour in '02... my friend went to the concert in... Tacoma, methinks. It was right after GN'R no showed the opening show of the tour in Vancouver and the fans tore up the arena. I think they canned the tour a couple shows later.

GNR here for sure.

BTW, isn't this the semi-final round in both topics, not the quarter-finals?

Metallica for me all the way.

Kill 'em All
Ride the Lightning
Master of Puppets

G N R:

Appetite for Destruction

Those are the only notable albums they came out with. 3 to 1.

Metallica is seen in real early interviews talking about 'selling out'. They have never hid from the fact they, from the very beginning, are in it for the money. From the early San Fran days on, its about money, booze, and girls. "Selling out" is a fan idea. And I will chauk up their bad albums to WAY too much booze.

Also, I like the new album "St. Anger". Good stuff. Shows imagination. Chord changes all over the place. Though I wouldn't mind another album like Master. All bands change/grow/evolve. Hard to compare Pink Floyd's "Piper at the gates of dawn" to "Final Cut".
