for those that live in the Philly area, on comcast sportsnite, they had a phone interview with Simon. He says he wants a long term deal and wants to finish his career with the Eagles. At the end of the interview, Derrick Gunn(the anchor) said that the latest report coming out is that the deal with Baltimore won't happen because Simon an his agent want to many years on the contract, more then baltimore is willing to give.

Personally, I'd love the trade. Baltimore can have him, as he's living off the hype of his first two years and under-produced severely last year. Yeah the Eagles would have a void to fill without him in the rotation, but an extra 2nd and 3rd for two years, wow I like that. Though we don't really need any more picks this year.
I agree, which is why I wonder why they would give a 2nd and a 3rd, but hell i'll take it. Your right he is alot of hype, he hasn't done much of late, and was outplayed by a few on the line last year. I just hope me get Cody now!

I wouldn't mind this much if I were an Eagles' fan. Another smart cap move by them imo, considering their talent evaluation in the draft. Hopefully, this takes the Ravens out of the market for Jamie Sharper too.
it is a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. I persoanlly think he values his worth more than others do.
BUT, he is probably better than what we would get in this draft. So it becomes -- overpay, oor get some value for him before he walks.
The compensatory pick would pboably be a third rounder if they let him walk -- and remember he is franchised now, so he is definitely being overpaid for this season as it stands.
His funds will help resign greg lewis and westbrook, while yielding a second round pick that didn't previously exist.
I think their total packages of picks the next two years should let them get almost anyone they want in the draft, so it is a good move.
Good move for baltimore too.
The opening scene of the movie "Saving Private Ryan" is loosely based on games of dodgeball Brian Dawkins played in second grade.

And the trade fell through because Simon thought being paid like a top DT wasn't good enough. Boy I hope we can trade this egotistical underperformer off onto someone else.
