Will he be able to get back to being a decent fantasy option, considering he had so long to rest and get healthy?I'm not sure he can overcome the losses the team has suffered.I always liked McNair, and damn if he isn't one tough SOB,but I think it's time to designate him as a backup or spot starter.I still think he can give you that good game once in awhile though.
I have always liked McNair, but that team has fallen apart. If he still had Derrick Mason, he could be a decent fantasy option, but for now he looks like a backup.

Volek will most likely be starting at least half of the games, after last season no way I draft McNair again, he ruined two of my teams single handedly forcing me to play the likes of Rattay and Collins
id be more than surprised to see mcnair stay healthy for very long this year. im sure volek will be back soon enough. i wouldnt trust mcnair enough to depend on him on my fantasy roster.

yea i understand your pain. i drafted mcnair as my number 1 last year. luckily i stole jake later. i dont see mcnair being a starter on any teams next year.
The onyl reason for McNair to stay is to mentor Volek. He's a true warrior, one of the toughest players in the game still, but his body can't do what he wants it to anymore, its too beat up. He either gracefully bow out as a mentor and team leader this year, or retire immediately. Either way, his tenacity will be missed.
I'm not surprised he wants to stay for another year, but I don't think his body can handle it. He'l' be out by week 6, and the Volek-Bennett connection will return!!!
