WR Mike Williams at TE?!?

He's not going to be able to block well enough to be a TE in the NFL. I think he will be fine at WR. I do think its possible though that his lack of speed will keep him from being a TO type receiver. He may end up being more like Keyshawn Johnson.

Wasn't Williams' 40 in the 4.55 range?

I think with his athleticism, size, leap, and general kickassery (yes, its a word), he could turn out to be a TO prototype. Or at least a Plax or Calico.

Has he worked since then to improve his speed? I thought I had heard that. I have to think he would run faster than a 4.6 if he did it now.

He's for sure a TO-mold receiver. Big guys like that can work off corners by outmuscling them. They don't need blazing speed; leave that to the short guys.

Making him a TE would be a waste of talent if you ask me.

Personally, I don't think he'd go very far as a TE in the NFL. He's built like a WR, and doesn't have TE blocking skills. He could do very well as a WR, but not as a TE.

If the Lions managed to grab Williams, i could see him doing pretty well in the slot WR/TE mix. If he can get 5 yards up and catch a pass over the middle, then the Lion's offense could get going a lot stronger, instead of throwing screens on third and long

I would suspect the Lions don't really need to worry about Williams since he should be long gone before they pick at 10.

If Mike Williams falls to Detroit at number 10 (highly unlikely), I would expect the Eagles to give them massive compensation for that pick. Just speculation of course, and I highly doubt Mike Williams will be falling past the Skins.

if someone drafted mike williams i bet he would hold out for a trade. ive heard the guy in a few interviews and he has a massive ego. im sure he wants more spotlight than being a TE would offer.

4.6 is plenty of room to get seperation from anybody not named Deion Sanders. Once you make a cut and get a step, 4.6 looks the same as 4.3....

Only the guys with insanely fast speed and reaction time can recover a player that has already beat them.
