Why are Safeties worth so little in FF?

If we are talking defensive safeties here, most I think would occur during a sack so you should see the majority of safeties counting as 3 pts, 1 for the sack and 2 for the safety itself. That seems like a reasonable enough scoring event for me.

...i'd say at least half of all safties are the RB getting pushed back.

I don't understand what the big discussion is about. If safeties were so valuable, the people who invented football would have made them worth more points.

It's ridiculous to add value to something just because it's more rare. Sure lots of TDs and things happen by luck or chance but no one goes out of their way to change the value of any number of things just because it is more rare. A TD is worth 6 and a safety is worth 2.
