Anyway, I went with GN'R.
Well, after this, disgruntledjetsfan and I have a 60s and 70s BORB planned, so stay tuned.
I guarantee the Final Four will be Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Queen, and the Rolling Stones. Is it a coincidence that they're all British? NO! British music = victory over any country.

Not so sure Queen would make it, they're great, but Pink Floyd might give them a run for their money in the 70's. What will suck is that Jimi Hendrix will have to square off against the Beatles or the Stones before then, otherwise he'd be the 4th lock.
I think Queen would most likely beat Pink Floyd. I don't really have a personally preference between either of them, but Queen has more radio hits that are recognizable to the casual fan. But people could just as easily like The Who, or Eagles, or anybody.. who knows?
I'm a big fan of Jimi, but I don't know if I'd vote him very far in a battle of the bands. He kind of stands alone in the spotlight, much the same reason Bob Dylan wouldn't get much look in a band battle.
There's definitely a lot more to choose from in the 60's and 70's.. a few great bands are bound to get left out (i.e. Boston, Cream, or the Allman Brothers)..
Oh, and even a west coast guy like myself can tell you east coast rap is better. Biggie used to be my favourite too, until I heard tha god Rakim.
