Each year, teams draft DE's so high because they all want to get that elite pass rusher, but every year so many of them fail to meet expectations. All the mock drafts this year have about ~5 DE's going in the first round, and we all know from experience maybe 2 of them will be worth that high of a selection. Cody is my pick just to put a name in there, but honestly I'm not sure, I'm just sure it will be a DE.
I voted for Smith, but in my mind it's pretty much a tie between him and Edwards in that bunch.
Good call on Cody, D-linemen seem to have a huge bust rate.
There may be no bigger bust position though than DT. Every year a handful of them go in the first round and I can't recall any of them really turning into anything big outside of Sapp. Hell, anyone remember the "draft of the DT's" a few years ago? Has anyone heard of any of those guys since then? Seems like all the same teams that took those guys are looking for DT's again now.
DTs traditionally don't do a ton stat-wise. I'd think these DTs have done well enough to merit their 1st round draft slots:
Kevin Williams (#9, 2003)
John Henderson (#9, 2002)
Albert Haynesworth (#15, 2002)
Marcus Stroud (#13, 2001)
Corey Simon (#6, 2000)
Anthony McFarland (#15, 1999)
So in the last few years, on average there's been about 1 DT in the 1st round who lives up to expectations.
Now I voted for Smith, as I dont think he has an outstanding skillset to be a guy who can lead his team to the next level.

I agree with the notion of d-lineman being bust.
But my big bust is Aaron Rodgers. He is not a true #1 overall QB caliber type guy. This is a weak year for QBs so expectations are very high for him. I feel that Rodgers will be another Cal QB, like Boller, and end up being mediocre. In turn, he will be considered a bust b/c of his top 3 selection. Boller was in the late teens if I am correct so the bust label isn't as harsh or severe for him.
