Jaguars | Stroud Lands Six-year Extension
Thu, 14 Apr 2005 14:18:00 -0700

Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports the Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to terms on a six-year contract extension with DT Marcus Stroud, which should make him the highest paid defensive tackle in the league. While financial terms are not yet available, the deal is believed to average around $6 million per year.

he played well enough to deserve it i guess...

agreed... stroud is a beast. And the Jagd needed to keep him aboard. But he still needs more DE help.

Yeah, he's one of the best D-tackles in the league.

good point, I forgot about that signing. I actually don't have anything against Wiley, because we were supposed to utilize him in the 3-4, where he is best suited (and had all his best years in). However, the Jags run a 4-3, I believe, so I can't see how he would be any more productive there than here.

He's a monster, and he deserves a ton of money. But higher paid than a guy like Jenkins and Glover, that sounds a bit weird. Stroud is a top DT, but he shouldn't ba making more than the better guys.

Well-deserved. Stround and Henderson are the best DT combo in the league, and with the additions of Wiley, and more notably, Reggie Hayward their defensive line will be something to be reckoned with next year.
