Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports New York Jets CB Donnie Abraham is considering retirement. The Jets are allowing him to stay away from their offseason program with hopes that he will decide to return for the 2005 season.

Well, I always had thought the Jets are a pretty solid team, but losing Abraham would hurt. They definitely need a CB first round now... even if he stays. I had no idea he was anywhere near this point.

That is a huge loss for them, and now they'll probably be forced to draft a CB in the first and/or 2nd round.

THIS IS JUST A RUMOR!

But, it has been thrown around on the Bears message board that the Jets are talking to the Bears about a trade for Jerry Azumah. It has been talked about on some Chicago radio shows so it may have some trickle of truth, but the Bears apparently have a big desire to get back the third round pick they gave up for Ogunleye.

I think the Jets knew they needed a CB soon anyways. I don't want to see it happen though b/c I like Zoom.

The Jets appear to be interested in signing Law, who was released by the Patriots in February. When asked whether he had spoken to Law, Jets coach Herman Edwards coyly said, "Have I talked to him? Maybe."

I was under the impression that the Jets were pretty much locked into drafting a 1st round CB this year anyways. Barring a Charles Woodson trade, it's almost a 100% certainty now.

Law is either a Steeler or a Chief IMO, depending on the outcome of his workouts + his contract demands.
