Never really took much interest in him until I read his book a few years back. Amazing what he has accomplished and hat he has done for bike riding in North America. Oh, and the cancer stuff too

Armstrong is capping an amazing career, including the most Tour De France wins ever.
But not as the greatest rider ever.
In order to retire as greatest rider to date, purists would probably say Armstrong would need capture the Cycling Hour Record, considered by many as equal in stature and difficulty to the TDF. Eddy Merckx and Miguel Indurain both won five Tours AND held the Hour Record and will remain in the eyes of many as the greatest riders ever.
Hats off to Armstrong though ... anybody who makes his reputation in the mountains is sure enough the real thing. Sprinters are a dime a dozen - you can count the elite climbers on one hand.

Well, he's never tested positive, but in this day and age, you never know. I bet he would have "Bonds-like" connections for that stuff if he wanted to...One of the guys who used to ride on his team and now the head rider of another team, Tyler Hamilton, just got suspended for 2 years by the US Anti-Doping agency for taking banned substances.

Whoa ... pretty big news there, MB. But blood doping is different than steroids ... no chemicals involved. Blood doping is old school.
