This is a really dumb trade. A first round pick for a TE?? I don't even know if I would do that it Gates or Gonzo were the TE's to be traded. They coul djust draft heath miller, although now I think the Steelers will draft him in the first round. his si great for the raiders though. It seems that they are just trading away their whole roster for draft picks.

my question is why would they trade a 1st rounder for jolley?

granted he has good size and is pretty young, however he isnt known for his great hands and has never broken 2 TDs in a season while averaging 324 yds/season...

so why?

If the Jets got the first second rounder it's not that bad of a move. They can still pick up a cornerback like Corey Webster or Eric Green there, and now they have a NFL experience tight end.

doesn't matter... good job by the Raiders for driving the price up so high. I definitely would have drafted Miller instead of getting Jolley. Stupid move.

I think this is a ridiculous trade. Apparently they really value TE's in that system. Becht left, so I suppose they wanted to bring someone in...and they got someone at the expense of a 1st round pick.

Jolley had like 1 good year 3 years ago...I don't think he's worth what they paid for them.

Besides, they had Jason Baker already who I thought was going to bust out this year...guess that won't be happening now. :,-(

ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the Oakland Raiders have traded TE Doug Jolley to the New York Jets for the Jets' first-round draft choice, No. 26 overall. It is also believed the Raiders, in addition to Jolley, sent a second-round draft choice to the Jets.

Ohhhhh... well, this looks like a much better trade. Still Oakland heavy, but not nearly as ridiculous as before.

This helps the jets a bit more, but I still think it was a dumb move by the jets. I personally don't see a problem with the NYJ TE's.

well this definately seems like a fair trade now...

the jets move down from #26 overall to #38 overall and gain jolley.

this move was definately to help their cap situation so they dont have to sign a 1st round pick now...

jolley really doesnt do much for me....i like this trade for the raiders.
