honestly mtr, tell that to the San Diego Chargers after Nate Kaeding blew their playoff chances for them. Or how Doug Brien missed two easy FGs the same game and almost blew NYJ's chances? Clutch kickers, as well as strong kickers, are very vital to the game. This one isn't, of course, but still...
Anyways, I'm also not a Cundiff fan... but I suppose resigning him doesn't hurt. He'll face competition (and win) against an undrafted rookie this camp, I'm sure.
I will note that I worte canacuna's line, not mine. personally, I think that special teams is the X-factor of football. Their performance can alter the pace of the game and can win the game for the team, while one screw-up can cost the team the whole game.
I think it;s good that they re-signed him, as he is a good kicker.
To be honest, I am pretty annoyed with everyone typing "resign" in titles. When a Coach's contract is nearly up, none of us will actually know what actually happened........
Cundiff is a bottom-half kicker who will be competing for his job again in camp. At least he has 1 record to his name.
