OAK trade impact

Postby monkey69 » Thu Apr 21, 2005 8:27 am

OAK has made some major trades - if I have the tally right:

1st trade -- with Minnesota
gave 1st round #7 pick, 7th round pick, LB Nap Harris
got WR Randy Moss

2nd trade -- with Houston
gave CB P Buchanon
got 2nd round, #47 pick, and 3rd round pick

3rd trade -- with NY Jets
gave 2nd round pick, #47 (from Houston), 2 6th round picks and TE D Jolley
got 1st round, #26 pick, and 7th round pick

Overall, if you add that up:
OAK gave 1st round pick, #7 along with 2 6th round picks and 3 players
and got 1st round pick #26 and 3rd round pick, #73 (from Houston which was from Dallas for Drew Henson - man has that pick gone all over) along with WR Randy Moss

What do you all think -- all in all, I think they did pretty well
16-teams - 1pt per 10yds rush/receive, 1 pt per 25 yds pass,No PPR
QB(1): Orton,Leftwich,Leinart
RB(2): Jones-Drew, Grant, Cadillac, L Washington, J Davis, Bernard Scott
WR(2): R. White, V. Jackson
TE(1): D. Clark, J. Finley
K(1): Gould
Def(1): BALT,GNB

I think this a classic Raider attempt to cheat by trying to confuse the NFL on what picks they actually own. They will just draft whenever they want a player. Who will argue...

A good offseason though. Major changes were needed and they certainly have done that.

Teyo Johnson just emerged as a sleeper TE in my book.

I agree with you Kensat - with Jolley gone - there is only one TE to get the underneath dumpoffs from Collins
Could target him pretty late in 8th-10th round

More like the 16th round....
---

Also I doubt Patrick Surtain goes for anything less than a 2nd rounder now... maybe he joins SA and Edge as untradeable/undesirable with all the cheap CBs in the draft.

They've done very well this offseason with all the trades, and I think that they'll have a very positive impact on the team as a whole with a bunch of young rookies on the roster. However, I think that over 1/4 of their picks will be traded for players on draft day though.
