Should I be worried about A. Green this season?

Postby chinch sacs » Mon Aug 18, 2003 11:01 pm

I heard he might not be getting goal-line carries, and his production did drop last season... I have him as my #2 RB (we start 3) should I try to trade him away and let someone else worry about his TD's, or will he produce like I want him to... something like 1200 yards and 10 TDs :-?

I made an offer to a guy,

my: Driver and A. Green
for
his: Moulds and W. Green... but I dont think he'll take it...

here is my line-up, 10 team H2H:

QB- Manning
QB- Brooks
RB- Holmes
RB- A. Green
RB- J. Lewis
WR- Holt
WR- Driver
WR- Booker
TE- K. Brady
PK- Akers
PK- Hollis
DEF- BAL

B- Plummer
B- O. Smith
B- Q. Morgan
B- T. Taylor
B- J. Hall

I have heard that Green Bay wants to get Davenport more involved. Green had some injury concerns last year and had an overall off season. Your three running backs are good, but they are getting old and there are injury concerns for all three. I think a trade for William Green would be good for you to help infuse some youth into your lineup. The trade sounds pretty good. If he doesn't take it, I might sweeten the pot to Holt/A. Green for Moulds/W. Green. Holt to Moulds is still a pretty good upgrade and if they things go well, you might not need to start William Green that much anyway. Good team overall.
It's time to roll the dice!

GB has said Davenport will get some touches this year to help keep Green fresh/healthy. They expect Green to get the ball 18-22 times per game depending on his health. They have said nothing to suggest that Davenport would be the goal-line back though.

Green had a 1-yard TD run in the last preseason game while he was in there.

Green looked solid in his last preseason game, I don't think I would personally trade him for W. Green. As your #2 RB I think he is more then adequate and I expect him to rebound from last year (just make sure you have davenport as a backup).

W. Green will be a good #2 back...Ahman is a great #2 back. Davenport is well liked by the coahing staff, but unless Green goes down, he is the man there. I wouldn't do that trade, although getting Moulds is an upgrade over Driver.

exactly... green will put up 1500 combined yds easily as long as he stays healthy, just expect a few less tds. i got him as the 10th rb in my draft (behind ricky,lt,priest, portis, faulk, deuce, alexander, henry and james). and i think he will be a fine first back for me (i got harrison first round), so he should be an awesome 2nd asuming he stays healthy.
