I saw him live a few years ago and he puts on a good show. You don't usually notice this on his recordings, but his piano playing was awesome. He's been openly gay for some time, though I think he has said he was bisexual, too.
He doesn't seem to have much self-control or financial sense though - he is in deep debt, his financial advisors are trying to get him to stick to a two million per year allowance so they can catch up on his debts, and he spends 500K a year on flowers.
I always knew he was some what gay. I thought it was more like the David Bowie type. He does have some good songs, but I would not buy any of his CD's. 500k on flowers a year is a little much.

I have to agree here. It has nothing to do with the music. Same with REM. Although I must admit it's hard to watch REM now Stipe is just so far over the top.
That reminds me of a funny interview I saw on VH1 one time, I think behind the Scenes: REM. When Stipe became openly gay, people were shocked, and he was like "I thought it was obvious to everyone. I mean I would practically cross-dress on stage..."
The fact that Elton John's gay is old news, but maybe old enough some people didnt know about it.
I thought it was common knowlegge that Elton John is gay as hell... Why do you think Eminem invited him to do that duet at the Grammy's? He was trying to silence all of the crticism over his "homophobic lyrics."

Me? Yeah man, I knew that..actually all those guys mentioned...Lots of good music from them. I think REM is great. They put on a pretty good show too. That Freeview on Directv from the Square was great I thought.
I was talking about calyxes, sounded as if this came as a shock to him...
