I grew up in west-central Wisconson then moved to southern Iowa, it was always pop. Then I moved to the Milwaukee area and everyone said soda. Now I'm back in west-central WI and it's mostly soda now.
Also when I moved to the Milwaukee area and someone asked if we had a bubbler I was at a total lose. My employees had to tell me what it was.

In CT everyone says soda. Same when I lived in howard county MD. Saying co ke (filter) would ruin it all, because what if you want a root be er (filter)?? How would you say it? Or if you wanted a pepsi?
I just found a new thing out about this. Click on teh map; it;s a link that shows county-by-county responses. In most counties, about 10 people were asked, which is not a true estimate of soda-pop. Plus my county, hartford county, was not on the list, but it had a color on the map, so this thing is totally innaccurate.
EDIT: click on your state, and it shows the responses by county. In some states, 10 people per county were aksed, but in otehrs it was 1000. still inaccurate though.
