Congrats Terp. That's awesome. you can definitely go places with a UMD degree. I know several people who've gone on to alot of success after graduating from UMD. Work hard and have fun.

And, hey, they are paying me to go there, so why not?
May I inquire what type of ride you are getting? Congrats man! College is a great time to learn about yourself.
Why certainly.
It's called a Banneker Key Scholarship and it's great. Basically they pay for everything: tuition, room/board, books, etc. Then on top of that I'm getting money from National Merit/ Maryland Distinguished Scholars. Not only that but any year (or semester I think) that I don't live on campus the University writes me a check for the room and board money I didnt use. Almost like a pay check. So basically I end up making money by going there.
And most importantly, terp games are free for students!
You should make a home video with you in front of a bunch of microphones and putting on a UMD hat and jersey or something and have a bunch of flashbulbs go off and stuff.
Press Conference to declare where you are going. Like those other highly talented high school kids.

You know your mascot is an oversized turtle, right?

Congrats man, that deal you're getting sounds great. I went to UMD last year for the Odyssey of the Mind world finals...the dorm rooms were tight (small, not cool) but it was a pretty nice campus.

Yeah I've seen them too. The freshman dorms arent much for sure. I'm thinking about commuting for a year or two to pick up the extra cash and avoid the crappy dorms. Then I can get a better dorm as an upperclassman or move in somewhere off campus. It's probably about a 25 minute drive from my house.
