Be safe, kids, let's leave those burritos at home.

that's pretty wierd, but the title "Extra Credit Burrito Leads to School Scare" is wierder when you don't know what it's about.

And this all could've been avoided if this concerned citizen instead of assuming something bad went up and asked the kid "What do you have there?" "Oh, this is my extra credit project, a big burrito."

thats awesome :-) getting the whole school locked down over a giant burrito :*)

i got a kick out of this line:
“The kid was sitting there as I’m describing this (citizen report of a student with a suspicious package) and he’s thinking, ‘Oh, my gosh, they’re talking about my burrito.’”

“We’ve trained for incidents just like this — the training just kicked in,” said Sgt. Jim Schoeffel of the Clovis Police Department.

Thankfully no one was hurt. We apprehended the suspect (and the burrito) and made sure the kids were safe. It's terrible when you send your kids to school, and some lunatic wielding a burrito storms in, but it's good to know we have concerned citizens who think on their feet and allow us to do our jobs as public protectors. :-b

I was waiting for the story to say something like:

The burrito was confiscated by the police for further tests but somehow never made it to the crime lab.

Mmm, Mmm, good
