Best Movie Year

Postby deftdelivery » Wed May 04, 2005 7:51 pm

What do you all think has been the best year for movies? My vote goes to 1999:

- Fight Club
- The Matrix
- American Beauty
- Being John Malkovich
- Office Space
;-D

1994 comes close with the Shawshank Redemption and Pulp Fiction.

Also in 1999, The Green Mile, The Sixth Sense and the Iron Giant. Boy, I can't argue with you, that was a good year. Office Space was great, I got a Swingline stapler for my office after that. Not red, though.

First off, welcome back deft! ;-D

Many would argue that 1939 was the best year ever for film.
The year that "talking pictures" finally demonstrated all they could be.
Releases:
Gone With the Wind
Stagecoach
Wizard of Oz
Gunga Din
Some Like It Hot (original)
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
Of Mice and Men

Groundbreaking year.

Modern...
1999... all listed above, and Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Dogma, Magnolia, and SouthPark: Bigger, Longer and Uncut. ;-D

Wow, I thought I was the only one who watched that movie and actually liked it. :)

My favorite year would have to be 1995:

- Braveheart
- The Usual Suspects
- Se7en
- Outbreak
- Friday
- Die Hard: With A Vengeance (I'm a closet Die Hard fan)
