Algebra help

I don't know if anyone here is good at algebra, but I'm stuck on my algebra homework. ANyone know the answer to this problem, which I drew a picture of?? Note that the little number on the far left is a 3.

3X+1/3=6

3*-2 1/3=-7+1=-6 -6/3=-2

X=-2 1/3

The problem is suppose to be 3X+1 divided by 3 = -2, right?

That was easy, my 8th grade algebra is much harder.

what you have to do to start is cube both sides... then solve from there...

3x+1=-8
3x=-9
x= -3

I'm with RayVins on this one. Thats how I was tought to do that problem. But then again, I haven't taken a high school or middle school algerbra for like 6 years

Hmm...I don't know then, we are working on problems like these right now, so I can't really help you:

(-3x^4y^7)^6(24x^2y) Tricky stuff. Don't know if there is an answer to that problem, just one I came up with right now.

pack, wnhat you did wrong is made the -2 a positive 8 when you cubed it, but it's really a neagtive 8.
