x= -3... i think

That is the correct answer. You have to cube both sides to get rid of the cubed root on the left side.

note that the # in the far left is a 3.

I think that x may equal -6. am I right??

what does the "^" mean?? I've never seen that before.

I thought of it this way:

1) Cube each side.

Result: 3x = 3(3x-12)

2) Distribute.

Result: 3x = 9x-36

3) Transfer x to left side.

Result: -6x = 36

4) Divide.

Result: 36/-6 = -6

x = -6

OK, are you sure you wrote that correctly and that the entire 3(x-4) isn't under the square root symbol?

just the 3 is under the radical symbol not the x-4.
