Nolan not allowed to wear suit

I heard it on ESPNEWS this afternoon. He wants to wear a suit during games because his dad used to do it when he coached, plus he thinks it is more classy to be dressed up for the games. Of course, the NFL denied his petition because of "marketing" reasons.

W(ho)TF cares what the coaches wear? Do you really think a 10 year old kid is going to buy a jersey or a 40 year old guy is going to buy a sweater because the head coach wears them when they coach? You've got to be kidding me. If the guy wants to look important as he coaches, he should be allowed to do it.

He should get a tailor to make him a custom-made suit that is covered in 49ers and NFL logos.

I'm a big fan of the old "suited coaches" thing, remember Tom Landry, but I think they should stick with what they have now. Marketing reasons aside, it does help the coaches have a more "uniform" look.

This is bush league from the NFL. Nothing better than a dressed up coach. I love watching the Classic NFL games, especially the one's with Hank Stram and that awful KC Chiefs red blazer.

Again, I agree that the suited coach is a cool concept, but it just isn't uniform.

If EVERY coach were required to wear uniforms, then I would love the idea. But to mix and match?
