Michael Eisen, of Giants.com, reports the New York Giants were awarded QB Tim Hasselbeck (Redskins) off waivers Monday May, 9. "We got very fortunate that this young quarterback became available just when we need one," general manager Ernie Accorsi said. "We're fortunate especially since we had to wait out the waivers. We are pleased to have him."

This rules... I can only hope he somehow gets the chance to start against us again, and Newman has another career day...
