The Associated Press reports former NFL DL William Perry badly lost a cake-eating contest Tuesday, May 10, to 135-pound Richard LeFevre, a 61-year-old retired auditor from Henderson, Nevada. LeFevre devoured a 5-pound birthday cake in 11 minutes, 26 seconds to earn the title of "World Cake Eating Champion." Perry, known as "The Refrigerator" during his playing days, started strong but had eaten less than a quarter of his cake when LeFevre finished, and wound up in last place. It was Perry's first sanctioned event since a poor showing at a hot dog-eating contest in 2003.

shameful. How did he lose to a 135 pound man?

I know that the world hot dog eating champion is some 100 pound asian woman or man.

Perry is just trying to drum up some pub for himself. Hopefully after this and the hot dog competition he failed miserably at, the media will stop giving him an audience and turn back to the real deal.

Competitive eating is great. :-)

Looks like it might be time for the Fridge to hang it up here too unless someone can come up with the food version of the 1 yard goalline plunge.
