Happy 80th Yogi!

Postby kevinoc81 » Thu May 12, 2005 1:39 pm

I know this is a football site, but we can take a second to honor AFLAC spokesperson Yogi Berra on his 80th birthday.

I found these Yogi quotes quite humorous also so I thought I'd share:

foxsports.com wrote:"It ain't over 'til it's over."

"Never answer an anonymous letter."

"I usually take a two-hour nap from 1 to 4."

"It's deja vu all over again."

"When you come to a fork in the road ... take it."

"I didn't really say everything I said."

On the 1969 N.Y. Mets: "Overwhelming underdogs."

When asked what time it was ... "You mean now?"

"I want to thank you for making this day necessary." (On Yogi Berra day in St. Louis in 1947)

"We made too many wrong mistakes." (On why the Yankees lost the 1960 World Series to Pittsburgh)

"You can observe a lot by watching."

"The future ain't what it used to be."

"It gets late early out here."

"If the world were perfect, it wouldn't be."

"If the people don't want to come out to the ballpark, nobody's going to stop them."

That Aflac commercial he does is a riot.

"The one you really need to have. If you don't have it, that's why you need it."

"They give you cash, which is just as good as money."

"If you get hurt and miss work, it won't hurt to miss work."

This is a great Web site for Yogi-isms. http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Yogi_Berra

Happy Birthday, Yogi!!!
