According to the book, "NFL's Greatest," it was Deacon Jones. Also, I did a search, and almost all of the sites I saw when I typed in "Deacon Jones invented sack" brough up sites saying that he did, whereas when I typed in "Ed Jones invented sack," I found one questionable site saying that Ed Jones did and a few saying it was Deacon.
