Steve Van Buren had 17 TDs for the Philadelphia Eagles in 1945. The Eagles ended the season with a 7-3 record. A total of 10 games. Therefore Van Buren's average is 1.7. Almost .13 better per game than Sayers.

What say you?

It seems we have an issue here. Van Buren's mark is certainly higher based on those numbers. Where did you get your information from, air raid?

Van Buren stats

1945 standings

Sayers stats

1965 standings

I'm sure where he saw this it said modern day record and that didn't get into his question. I don't give a rat's butt about who gets credit. To me it's all about getting the right answer.
