The Summer movie thread

Postby MadScott » Tue May 17, 2005 3:05 pm

Okay, it's fair to say that with SW3 coming out this week, summer movie season's in effect. What's floating your boat or at least looks interesting this year?

For me, of course SW3 is at the top of the list. The Longest Yard remake looks pretty good as well. I've got some bizarre interest in seeing the new Batman movie even though the last few have sucked and I also want to catch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which looks to be a remake of Willy Wonka.

Let's hear your must sees of the summer.

Charlie and the Chocolate factory is actually the original title of the book, not Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I'm not sure how true to the book the original movie was, so this could perhaps be less of a remake and more like the story. Kind of like that crappy mini-series Stephen King did with the guy from Wings when he did The Shining. By far SW3 is the one flick I want to catch though. Not too much else is of interest.

You might want to watch your words here Rayvins "Prison... Movie" and "Tons of Guys I love" in the same sentence could come across the wrong way!!!

I'm looking forward to Cinderella Man, the Ron Howard movie with Russell Crowe in it. Looks like it is going to be great, a potential best picture nominee.

I also want to see the longest yard, of course.

War of the Worlds tops my list.

SW3 is up there, but the last two have sucked so mad, IMO, that I doubt I'll fork out $10+ to see it.

Batman Begins is the same way, but I want to take my son, but If it ends up too dark, I'll wait so we can watch it togther on video, so I can explain things to him.

There is another movie, but I can't think of the name of it. :-?

I definitely want to see The Longest Yard. I am not really interested in Star Wars, or Batman. Never seen any of the Star Wars movies.

I cannot wait for War of the Worlds, The Longest Yard, Deuce Bigalow - European Gigalo, and Batman Begins could be decent.

BTW, Duke of Hazzard should be good b/c 1 -It is a classic and 2-Jessica Simpson is a H-O-T-T-I-E ;-D
