Hey, he's a sleeper who may hit it big the Vikings led the NFL in rushing last year. Bennett is hurt someone has to run the ball. If your lineup is so stacked at RB you need no help. Disregard this message!
Moe Williams was also there with Bennent, and he did okay. Williams will probably be the situational goal line/3rd down/change of pace back. It's not just Williams...Smith is battleing with Chapman for the starting role and it looks like Chapman will get it...BUT...don't think that means Smith won't play much. He's having a good camp and the coaches want to get him playing tiome. He could be a good number 3 or 4 RB.
last i read, smith was the front runner for the gig. tice just "didnt want to start a rookie in week 1 at lambeau" (however, week 2 would be a different story). i also heard that smith began practicing w/ the first team and the coaches have been singing his praises. what have you heard?
I guess some of you guys have a chip on your shoulder. All the dogg was saying is that public opinion is starting to favor Onterrio Smith having a good season. And like it was said before he will make a good 3rd or 4th back and rookie sleeper. No one said to take him #1 overall. Chapman will not win the position. Yes, Moe will steal some td's. The same was said about a 2nd round pick rookie last year who was 4th on the Bronco depth chart and was overlooked in many FF drafts last year. I'm not saying Portis and Smith are the same..... all I'm saying that he is worth drafting late and being your back up. Did any of you guys even watch Onterrio run at Oregon? He is a great RB with great potential.
