I havn't seen any post about last nite's fights (cause there were none).
I thought the bouts were pretty good. Though, from boxers stand point, knowing you only have to go 5 rounds, I'm sure you can throw it all out there for each round. This makes for entertaining boxing and it saved me from having to watch the Idol dribble, which i wouldn't have anyway.
I don't think these guys are legit conteders, though they say that Manfredo is/was ranked and undefeated.
All in all I thought it was a good entertaining program week after week. Anyone else have an opinion?

I watched it a couple of times, and I can easily see it being rigged. All in all, it has been pretty solid when I watched it, but I definetly doubt these guys could actually contend as pro boxers.
BTW, Manfredo got knocked out of the tournament by that Mexican guy and only made it back in because one of the other fighters got sick or something.

I'm definitely in a minority as the wife and I watched every episode. I was bummed that it got cancelled. It was nice to see the whole picture of the life of a fighter. The hard part for me was only being able to see 30 second clips of the rounds and the fights only lasting 5 rounds. At that length, it doesn't really give a true sense of who the truly stronger fighter is. If you look at Gomez/Manfredo I, had the bout gone say 2 more rounds like the semifinals and finals, I think there is a good chance that Manfredo wins as he was coming on and punishing Gomez. Instead, Gomez was able to do enough and win the first 3 rounds, thereby securing the victory.
I think Mora, Gomez and Manfredo all could be viable contenders in that division. Brinkley is a bit too one dimensional. Ishe Smith has all of the tools to be the best of them all but is like the Tin man and lacks heart.
As for the final last night, that decision, although for the right guy, was bunk. There's no way that it was a 7-0 fight for Mora on that one judges card and I have a tough time with it being 6-1 and 5-2 as well. 4-3 is how I saw it.
