I'm a freshman this year, and I have participated in investment club. I tried doing a little research, but there is just so much info out there that it is hard to get a grasp on the stock market. I would like to know some general stock investing advice as well as answers to specific questions such as what is the difference between ask and bid prices and what do you think are the best stats. With all this data like earnings per share, price per earnings, sales, cash flow, etc, 52-weeks, 14-weeks, etc, it's so hard to tell what to look at.
What is your time horizon? If you're talking investing for retirement that's a lot different than shorter term investing, which is really stock trading. I've traded stocks a lot, both day trading and longer term (swing) trading, so if you had specific questions I'll give them a shot, but some of your questions are fairly general and would take many pages to discuss.
