RIP George Mikan

I'm not a big Shaq fan but I have to give him credit for a nice gesture, regardless of his motivation.

Props to Shaq to be sure.

RIP to a true Minnesota Laker, an original, and the first of the great big men in the game. ;-D

Well, according to ESPNews just now, the Mikan family has accepted Shaq's offer to cover funeral expenses.

Glad it's working out. Funerals are tough enough as it is, glad this is one less thing for the Mikan family to worry about.

I don't think Shaq did it to take a jab at the Lakers, but saying that Wade is the best player in the world or whatever is... Shaq's a pretty nice guy in interviews and is funny most of the time and he seemed pretty serious when he said it, so I really don't think he was thinking about making an offer before LA could.
