Linda Cohn leaving ESPN?

Postby Calyxes on Fri Jun 03, 2005 6:39 pm

Linda Cohn may not be on SportsCenter any more, according to sources at the NEW YORK POST. Cohn is in the midst of a contract negotiation and she wants to expand her horizons outside of Bristol.

Play-by-play is a possibility. Cohn did not return calls before deadline. ESPN declined comment.

I hope she does not move to play-by-play :-t

She's horrible. :-P

I'd rather listen to Stuart Scott. And that's saying something.

Yeah, I really don't think she's anything special. I mean, she's been there forever which I guess merits a better contract, but trying to get play by play is not going to happen. They have certain people for that plus the numerous retired athletes that just come along and grab the jobs away from others.

Make her go on Dream Job to get a play by play position...that way I don't have to watch her for a while. :-b

Haha..I will agree she isn't the best, but she doesn't bother me as much as some of the other folks there. I don't know that I would miss her...but just don't give me more Stuart Scott in her place.

I really don't think she's all that bad. Granted, play-by-play would probably be a disaster, but on SC she's actually pretty good.

At least she doesn't have any dumb "as cool as the other side of the pillow" type remarks.

About the only thing she will be doing play by play on is the WNBA or Womens College Basketball. That or hockey. :-/

She's no Michelle Tafoya. If you're looking for a female sportscaster that deserves a promotion, I think it's her.

I don't mind her--it's just that there's something that sometimes makes me want to scream aloud when she comes on. Other times I'm cool with her. No need for a promotion though :-P
